A Victorian house on a quiet lane, with a wing added in 2016, ten minutes from the town centre and on a bus route. Big enough to have a nurse on every shift; small enough that everyone knows your name.

- 38 single rooms, 26 with en-suite wet rooms, all with a call bell and a garden or courtyard view

- Three lounges and a quiet room, a hairdressing room and a family room you can book for birthdays

- A level, secure garden with raised beds, a greenhouse and a covered terrace
- Staff
- 52 staff, including six registered nurses and two activities coordinators; a nurse on every shift
- Staffing at night
- One nurse and three carers awake all night for 38 residents
- Access
- Step-free throughout, two passenger lifts, hoists in every nursing room
The people
Registered manager: Jane Example, who has run the home since 2019 and is here most days. Half the care team have been with us more than five years. We do not use agency staff for nights.
Every resident has a named nurse or senior carer who writes the care plan with them and their family, and reviews it every month.
